Alvaro Arbeloa, head coach of Real Madrid, has acknowledged the frustration and disappointment felt by fans following his team’s performance this season. After a 2-0 away defeat to Barcelona in the 35th round of La Liga, Arbeloa admitted the difficulty of the situation.
“Words are hard to find right now. I understand the disappointment and dissatisfaction of the fans with this season. All we can do is keep working and look ahead, learning from every mistake we made this year,” Arbeloa told Marca. “Real Madrid always bounces back. We have fallen many times and risen many times. The situation needs to change.”
Real Madrid currently sits second in the table with 77 points from 35 matches, trailing Barcelona by 14 points. With just three games remaining, the team has lost any chance of winning the league title this season.
