Dmitry Ulyanov, the sporting director of Moscow’s Lokomotiv, shared his thoughts on the ongoing negotiations to extend the contract of forward Dmitry Vorobyov, drawing a comparison to the situation with former team captain Dmitry Barinov.
“Vorobyov still has a year left on his contract. Talks are underway. Neither side has pulled out,” Ulyanov said in an interview with Championat correspondent Ilya Nikulnikov. When asked if he feared a repeat of the Barinov scenario, he admitted, “Honestly, I am afraid. But what can you do?”
Dmitry Barinov left Lokomotiv during the winter transfer window to join Moscow’s CSKA. His contract was set to expire six months before the move, as the parties failed to reach an agreement on an extension.
