The Cleveland Cavaliers reportedly reached out to the Milwaukee Bucks before the trade deadline to inquire about a potential deal for Giannis Antetokounmpo, but the asking price proved to be steep. According to Jake Fischer, league sources indicated that Milwaukee made it clear any trade package would have to include young star Evan Mobley along with all of Cleveland’s available first-round draft picks.
“The Cavaliers, league sources say, contacted the Bucks about Giannis before the deadline as well … and were told it would take Evan Mobley and all of Cleveland’s available draft capital to get it done,” Fischer wrote. “That’s a trade construction that presumably would have Mobley stans scoffing, but it’s a move that no shortage of rival executives I’ve discussed it with say they would make.”

While the Cavaliers explored the possibility, the Bucks’ high demands quickly shut down any realistic chance of a deal. The reported trade framework highlights Milwaukee’s firm valuation of their two-time MVP.
